Climate-controlled, year-round swimming — heat pump and chiller integrated

Without active climate control, a Dubai pool reaches 36–38°C in summer (uncomfortable and unsafe for extended swimming) and drops to 18–21°C in winter (too cold for most users). Active climate control turns the pool from a 4-month-a-year asset into a 12-month-a-year one. Buildsmith® integrates heat pumps for winter heating, chillers for summer cooling, solar-thermal systems for offset, and titanium heat exchangers rated for salt-chlorinator water — sized for pool volume and surface heat-loss rate, not specified by guesswork. Equipment is supplied through authorised UAE dealers for Hayward, Pentair, Zodiac, Maytronics, Aquastar, Astralpool and Calorex — with full manufacturer warranty pass-through.

Water treatment — UV, ozone, salt, mineral — engineered for clarity and skin comfort

Pool water treatment in the UAE has moved well beyond traditional chlorine. We specify salt chlorinators for low-chlorine residual and skin-comfortable water, UV / ozone systems for chemical-light treatment, mineral systems (copper-silver) for sensitive-skin households, and automatic pH and ORP dosing for hands-off chemistry management. All routed through BS EN 16713-compliant treatment systems with manufacturer manuals included in the handover pack.

A swimming pool installation is rarely a single trade. It's a geotechnical survey, a structural engineering submission, an excavation, a reinforced-concrete shell, a hydraulics rough-in, a multi-coat waterproofing, a pressure test, a tiling install, an equipment install, an electrical wire-up, an automation programming, a water filling and a chemistry stabilisation — running in parallel under one program. Finishes — mosaic, glass tile, porcelain, polished plaster

Pool finish drives the visual character — and the surface chemistry. Bisazza-style glass mosaic in 20×20mm or 25×25mm tile gives the highest-end aesthetic but commands premium pricing. Glass tile in larger formats (300×300mm) is a mid-premium alternative with similar light-refraction behaviour. Porcelain pool tile is the durable mainstream specification — easy to maintain, slip-resistant where required, available in stone, marble and natural finishes. Polished plaster (microcement / pebble) is the option for natural-look pools with less grout maintenance.

Deck integration — coping, paving, lighting, planting

Pool decks are part of the pool — not the landscape afterthought. We integrate coping stone (typically 30mm bullnose or square-edge in travertine, basalt or porcelain), matching deck paving with thermal-shock-resistant grouting, integrated landscape lighting (12V LED, IP67) at deck and step level, and planting beds with chlorine-tolerant species at deck edges. Automation — Hayward / Pentair / Zodiac dashboards in your pocket

Pool automation has become standard, not premium. Buildsmith® specifies Hayward OmniLogic, Pentair IntelliCenter, Zodiac iAquaLink or equivalent — bringing temperature, lighting, pH, ORP, filtration cycles, water-feature pumps and robotic-cleaner schedules into one app. Sensors monitor water chemistry continuously and trigger pH/chlorine dosing only when needed; lighting scenes, music synchronisation and party-mode programming integrate with smart-home dashboards (Lutron, Crestron, Loxone, Control4) where applicable.

Annual maintenance — keeping the pool running after handover

Optional annual pool maintenance contracts cover weekly chemistry, filter backwash, tile cleaning, equipment servicing, automation updates, seasonal heat-pump-to-chiller switchover and as-needed deep-clean — by the same team that built the pool. Most pool failures are maintenance failures, not construction failures. The contract is separate from the build, but managed under the same accountability.
